If you have a new cutting or a fresh sprout to log, this tutorial walks you through how to link a new propagation to a plant or seed batch that is already registered on Plant Provenance.

In this video, we guide you through the third “Add Plant” option, which allows you to maintain a clear history for your plants, whether they are from your own collection or acquired from another grower.

What we’ll cover:

  • Owner Selection: How to toggle between your own account and other users to record acquisitions.
  • Propagation Methods: The difference between vegetative (cuttings, nodes, TC) and sexual (seeds/seedlings) propagation.
  • Source Linking: How to select the specific parent plant or seed batch from a user’s list.
  • Acquisition Requests: Setting trade dates and order references to notify the seller and verify your purchase.

Pro Tip: If you select an owner other than yourself, clicking “Create” will automatically trigger an acquisition request to that user to keep your provenance records verified!
