At Plant Provenance, we believe that knowledge exchange is vital to the world of horticulture and rare plant preservation. We are firmly committed to supporting the organizations that foster this knowledge and build community globally.

That is why we offer special access and benefits to qualifying educational and nonprofit institutions.

Benefits: Free Enthusiast membership

We offer our Enthusiast plan completely free of charge to eligible organizations. This provides institutional users with access to our core tools for cataloging, managing, and connecting within the plant community.

Who Qualifies?

Our institutional program is open to organizations that meet the following criteria:

  • Nonprofit organizations
    This includes certified nonprofit horticultural societies, plant conservation groups, arboretums, and Botanical Gardens that hold official nonprofit status.
  • Educational institutions
    This covers universities, colleges, and research institutions that run formal botanical programs, horticultural studies, or plant science initiatives.

Eligibility for the a Enthusiast plan is determined at the sole discretion of Plant Provenance. We will verify all provided organizational information and reserve the right to request clarifying documentation or decline any application that does not meet our internal criteria or standards for supporting knowledge and community.

Account access and seats

We tailor access based on the type of organization to ensure proper representative usage:

  • Nonprofit organizations
    Qualifying nonprofits can add up to three authorized representatives to their account for team management and collaboration.
  • Educational institutions
    We provide access to individual representatives who can be easily linked to their institution's official email domain for secure, verified enrollment.

If your organization meets the qualifications, we encourage you to apply and join our mission to make plant collecting more sustainable through documented provenance.
